Charlotte.. Does she have the minerals (Part 2)

Updated: Sep 2, 2023

Following a days rest mooching around the atmospheric Dinorwic Quarry, we were back at it.. Charlotte had done really, really well, both physically and mentally, I was impressed!!

We set off from Pen Y Pass at a hell of a rate, I was using this Snowdon summit hike as a time trial to see whether I was ready for the 3 peaks challenge, I was looking for a time of 2 hours up, 2 hours down, Charlotte was completely unaware..

The weather was miserable, rain coming in sideways and blowing a gale, if Charlotte was ever going to quit, today would be the day and I wouldn't have blamed her, it was grim. The pace was fast and although she didn't moan or groan, I could tell she was feeling it, absolute warrior!!

Wherever possible I always ensured Charlotte was on my inside and in front of me, that way if she slipped I could hopefully react in time.. there was such an occasion, luckily I managed to grab her before any damage was done.. not to mention another slip where she grabbed a stranger..😂. Despite the weather conditions we managed to summit in just over two hours, my fastest time!! I couldn't have been anymore proud of Charlotte, adverse weather conditions, absolute schiester of a guide and she nailed it, like absolutely nailed it..❤️!!!

Given the weather conditions er didn't stop at the top, we flew down the Llanberis path, into Llanberis before walking back to Nant Peris to get the car... it was a long day and needless to say there were a few aching muscles for a few days afterwards, but we both took a lot of pride from what was achieved that day. Charlotte definitely has the minerals!!!
